Iorays are small stingray like aquatic creatures that roam around the ocean and shores.
Spawning[]
Ioray can spawn in biomes that have the following biome tags:
- Ocean
Ioray spawners can be found in Oceanic Doomlike Dungeons and Dungeons (Vanilla).
Behavior[]
Iorays can be seen in oceans hunting and killing other sea creatures. Once a player gets to close it will start attacking the player with a water jet. This water jet gives penetration which makes all attacks for 5 seconds ignore any armor.
Taming[]
Much like a garden variety of other mobs in the mod, Ioray can be tamed, and will require you to make tasty Aquatic Treats for them before you can do so. In order to try and tame one, you will likely need more than one treat, because these mobs are greedy and will try to kill you at the same time.
If the Ioray wants more treats, it will say so in the chat. If not and it stops attacking you, it will read, “The Ioray seems to love you now!” Congratulations, you’ve tamed a mob you can ride the oceans with! Now all you’ll need is an Aquatic Saddle and pet armor (for extra protection) and you’re ready swim in the oceans.
Sub Species[]
For every Ioray that spawns, there is a 10% chance for it to be an Uncommon variants. Uncommon Iorays can be Lux or Verdant. A Lux Ioray has a sandish yellow body, and a Verdant Ioray looks like a turtle. Uncommon Iorays have higher stats than a regular Ioray. This does not change their behavior.
Pet Ioray Abilities[]
Pet Iorays gain the ability to be mounted and shoot water jets which give armor penetration. They are seen to be more of a combat pet as you can travel faster with Depth Strider 3 and Stone of the Sea.
Man Ray[]
In a Stream Shrine, a modified Verdant Ioray can appear as a boss. This boss is called the Man Ray, and this boss drops an Aquatic Soulstone, Heart Crystal Shards, and the default Ioray drops.
